Saturday's BBC Seminar - "Art of Fighting" - was a smashing success!  Talk about saving the best for last and such a great way to wrap up the 2009 "Art Of" BBC Seminars.

The seminar started with Grandmaster Geoff taking us through point and competition sparring and how this has evolved over the years.  We were also fortunate enough to hear some stories of Grandmaster Geoff sparring back in the day.

We then got shown some drills to practice, and once we had done that, it was time to spar!  All but one of the 38 students in attendance opted to spar, and great fun and learning was had by all.

Grandmaster Geoff then explained to us how fighting differed from sparring and asked for a volunteer to step up so he could demonstrate to us the difference.  This was an experience never to be forgotten, and no current active student has ever witnessed such a display.  Its hard to describe what took place, and students who didn't go to the seminar definitely missed out.

A great way to wrap up the 2009 "Art Of" BBC Seminars and we're all looking forward to the 2010 "How To" BBC Seminars with the first one in January and the one not to be missed by any active student - "How To Be A Student!".
